Recovery Bart’s PE Builder 3.1.10a

Bart’s PE Builder helps you create, with ease, a CD (or DVD) startup (you can boot from it as well) that is particularly useful for the maintenance of the personal computer.
Leaving the CD inserted into the CD ROM created with Bart’s PE Builder, you will have access to a stripped down version of Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server that will allow, thanks to graphic-style files (the kernel is to Windows) carrying out any task you can think of. Among the many possibilities offered by BartPE include, for example:
- File Recovery partitions from FAT / NTFS (especially useful if your system does not start in the canonical way);
- Copies of files to and from any device-device. BartPE also supports the local network: it is therefore possible to copy files and folders to and from network drives;
- Virus scan. BartPE allows you to run your favorite antivirus in a safe environment, running the control without access to Microsoft Windows, in a safe and “virus-free”.

In order to use the PE Builder, you must have (unlike what happened in previous versions of Bart’s PE Builder), only the CD-ROM installation of Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home Edition, Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition or Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition.
If you use the installation CD of Windows XP (Home or Professional) is essential to ensure that this is properly updated (“slipstreamed”) to the last Service Pack: detailed steps to update your original Windows XP CD-ROM is described in our article. More recently, we published in the pages of IlSoftware.it, a new rapid procedure to obtain the same result (see, in that regard, this page).
Keep in mind, however, that are commercially available versions of Windows XP (Home and Professional) Microsoft has already taken steps to upgrade to the latest Service Pack: Refer to your local dealer.
